The charging system utilizes a stationary Power Control Station (PCS) usually installed near where you park your truck that provides the AC voltage to your truck. The AC voltage is converted to DC voltage in the truck and is used to supply power to charge both the traction battery as well as the auxiliary battery under the hood. This primer provides information about the key components, charging process, and how I perform the charging process.

  1. BulletOil Pump Failure - The Transaxle internal oil pump can fail and eventually result in an expensive transaxle failure. Removing and replacing the internal pump is very difficult. An alternative is to install and external pump utilizing a commercially available automotive electric fuel pump.
