Become a ‘Green Collector

Do you consider yourself a Car Guy? You enjoy cars - driving them, working on them, and hanging out with other car guys.

Do you consider yourself Environmentally Responsible? You’re not a tree-hugger or see yourself as an activist, but you choose to tread lightly while you’re here. You want to help preserve this planet, not just consume it.

Green Collectors merge these two interests by including environmentally responsible historic vehicles in their car collections.

The Ford Ranger EV was developed and produced by the Ford Motor Company as part of a California Air Resources Board requirement for zero emission vehicles during the 1990s. Approximately 1500 vehicles were produced from 1998 to 2001. Unfortunately, most of these trucks were crushed along with the GM EV1 and similar vehicles from the other major automobile manufacturers. Approximately 400 Ranger EVs were spared and are still driving the roads of America, Canada, and several foreign countries. They’re supported by a network of specially trained Ford Dealers and a dedicated group of independent parts and service providers. Own a piece of automobile history, demonstrate your commitment to America’s energy independence, and enjoy carefree all-electric motoring! Add a Ranger EV to your car collection and join the Green Collector movement!

What’s a Green Collector?

Utilities and other ‘polluters’ offset their carbon footprint by adding green energy sources. Green Collectors offset some of their carbon footprint by adding historic electric vehicles to their collections.

“I enjoy old Fords including several high-performance Mustangs, an Italian sports car, and a 50’s convertible. My ’99 NiMH Ranger EV is just the newest of my old Fords and not only allows me the opportunity to preserve part of the history of the electric car, but helps off-set some of the carbon footprint from my collection. Not exactly a zero-sum, but it’s part of my efforts to tread lightly. Every time I take my Ranger EV to car shows, I get lots of interest from collectors that never knew these trucks existed.” - Scott

“I have been into old collectable cars for 35 years.... I have one wrecked 2000 NiMH Ranger for parts and....one last Ranger that I will not sell.” - Don
